Background

Dayton Parts, located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has been producing quality automotive parts for heavy, medium and light duty trucks since 1922. Their product line includes suspension, brake, steering, springs, and more. Dayton Parts provides the most complete product offering, unrivaled in content, quality and coverage, and they have the most complete single-source product offering available to the independent automotive after-market.

Scope of Project

Dayton Parts has multiple locations in the city of Harrisburg. The operations at these locations needed to work closely together and they did not want to cause any confusion for their customers. To meet these project requirements G.R. Sponaugle Communication designed, installed and configured a multi-site Avaya S8400 media server voice solution with G650 media gateways and a centralized, IP integrated Avaya voicemail system located at the larger site. The S8400 acts as the primary call processor for the complete voice network.

GRS installed Avaya S8300 media servers with G700 media gateways at the other sites. The S8300/G700 systems are connected through a high speed digital circuit and utilize the centralized voicemail system. The S8300 are configured to act as a Local Survivable Processor (LSP). Should there be a circuit failure in the public network, all the systems will remain functional.

Dayton Parts tracks all calls into and out of their facilities to control costs and manage their call volumes to provide optimal customer care. The Dayton Parts Customer Service Group tracks their performance with an Avaya Call Center Reporting software package.
